About Josh’s Keynote

A growing challenge for organisations is creating the human confidence and engagement required for change.

In this high-energy keynote, Josh Stinton explores what moves people from passive participation to purposeful action.

Drawing on his work with more than 2,100 Milano Cortina Games volunteers, 1,135 Olympic athletes and organisations around the world - as well as extraordinary adventures ranging from handcycling across Japan to competing in the World Championship of Hide and Seek - Josh combines serious insight with unexpected stories, raw honesty and laugh-out-loud moments.

At the heart of the keynote is a practical progression:

  • Create clarity: Connect individual actions to the larger outcome being delivered.

  • Build confidence: Turn uncertainty into specific, controllable next steps.

  • Generate ownership: Help people recognise their influence and choose to act.

Josh reveals why waiting for perfect plans often produces hesitation rather than progress, why commitment is built through behaviour rather than intention, and how seemingly small moments can shape an entire team’s performance.

Attendees will leave ready to:

  • Take purposeful action even when every answer is not yet available.

  • Remain engaged and effective when pressure rises or conditions change.

  • Recognise how their individual behaviour influences colleagues, customers and organisational outcomes.

  • Turn ownership from an abstract value into a practical, everyday way of working.

Three memorable principles

  • Own It: Recognise your influence and take responsibility for what happens next.

  • Are you serious?: Translate good intentions into visible commitment and action.

  • Make the small details big details: Create meaningful impact through the moments others overlook.

Packed with humour, compelling storytelling and immediately applicable ideas, The Own It Effect leaves audiences with more than a temporary burst of motivation. It gives them a shared language and practical framework for turning clarity into confidence - and confidence into action.
